Well, since Feb. 2007 and mainly the last two months I’ve gone from the 1st link on the 1st page of Google to somewhere on page 21 on the index. Nice! I looked into what changed the site that might have caused this. . . Well, turning on comments in the photo gallery was NOT a good idea. NOT! After being spammed with ~21,000 messages, the site go so saturated that I think Google killed my ranking. So, after all the hard work to get a good page rank, here I am, back at the beginning. Oh well. . . I’m going to have to go to work again and see what I can do to correct the problem.

But, a note for you out there using older versions of Coppermine. DON’T ENABLE comments unless you have some verification method (image verification) or something enabled. The spammers will CRUSH YOU!!

See. . . Wasn’t such a bad idea. I’ve already gotten 12 comments since I started uploading my albums today — some good, some bad. But, they’re comments, nonetheless. So, I guess Flickr is already doing what I’ve always wanted my gallery to have done — provide me feedback (good or bad) so I can improve my photography.

Cusimano right? I’m happy you were able to reunite with our beautiful Great Lake, she is mighty and strong, and when she puts her mind to it she will put you in your place. I would adore a lazy day of fishin’ in Savannah…keep the last two weekends in September open! What I really want to know is, did the fish taste as good as it looks?

It might work (haven’t tried this myself) if you make a copy of the one you got (SlashdotHeadlines.php) and change the name (of the php file) to something apropriate. Then open it and change:

on line 4
“Plugin Name: Slashdot.org Headlines” to e.g. “Plugin Name: Google Headlines”
on line 24
“function SlashdotHeadlines” to e.g. “function GoogleHeadlines”

And of course change the feed url.

Then upload and install/activate it.
and to call that new scripts function on your site use… instead of “SlashdotHeadlines(5)” use “GoogleHeadlines(5)”.

corner bead = yawner feed The color is great, dark is almost always better and it gives the foyer a voice. Plus it seems you get more visual stimulation from the seating area. You can go totally off the wall and paint your ceiling a different color. The fifth wall gets no respect.

so your experiment has left me sitting here on vacation in my own hovel wondering if I too should be making a run to Lowe’s to paint that wall over there that doesn’t look quite right. I am certain I could keep this up until sunday. but back to your dilemma, the color looks great. I wouldn’t have thought that ending the new color on a corner would be so controversial! I say leave it.

I agree. I like the color and the look of it but, you need something to transition it from wall to wall, color to color. They have nice corner beads now that almost look like they’re carved and stuff. That’s my suggestion… decorative corner beads on the two corners… full height. pre-paint them and use tiny finish nails and you won’t even need to caulk, etc.

Something about the changing colors without a physical border (corners don’t count) disturbs me. Say there was some vertical strip (like molding although I don’t think molding would work in this case) that separated the foyer so that the paint ended there.

I think I’d like it better after I got used to it. We have something like this in our house. Didn’t care for it at first but after a time I got used to it.

I heard the owner quit staying there because as he got older, the sound of the water rushing through the house made him have to pee a lot at night and thus, he didn’t get much sleep there.

So true brother. It is the pinacle of all news/stories. Ed Bradley along with Mike Wallace, Morley, and Andy have built something of value and Quality. I too was raised on 60 minutes. It still and will always be a Sunday evening tradition. When Harry Reasons died it should me that my favorite “News Magazine” on Sunday night was not to be forever. Ed leaving makes me sad, but proud to say that 60 mintes has help, assisted, and made me better.

Ed Bradley and the whole 60 minutes organization is what is right. It is pure. This seems to be a thing of the past in TV. May people forever understand the power and stature of this great show.

Actually, Bob Schiefer is better than Cronkite was — professional, gracious, wise and witty, without Cronkite’s ego and attitude , which sometimes bordered on arrogance. (Still, it was shameful how he, too, was shafted by the greed and non-savvy Tisch regime.) Couric is thin, boring and lacks true depth and gravitas. It would appear that she spells the end of what was once an estimable institution - “the Tiffany network” turns out to be a cloudy rhinestone instead of the parkling, multi-faceed diamond it once was.
